While exploring the dream world, Madotsuki will occasionally come across events activated either by a specific trigger or a random chance. Encountering them is not required to complete the game.

Bathroom Madotsuki[]
Madotsuki sees her ghost
- Prompt: Random chance when loading the room.
- Description: Head towards the bathroom and Madotsuki will see herself inside. The lights will flicker and it will disappear as you approach.
Original Yume Nikki[]

- Prompt: Random chance when loading the room.
- Description: There's a small chance Madotsuki's dream bedroom will appear in the style of the original game. It will end after you enter the Nexus.
KALIMBA[]
Kalimba
- Prompt: Random chance when turning on the TV while in the Original Yume Nikki event.
- Description: You have to have the original Yume Nikki event active. Then, try switching the TV off and on for a random chance for the KALIMBA event to happen. KALIMBA first appeared in the original game.
Forest[]

- Prompt: Time challenge.
- Description: If you complete the Lighthouse segment fast enough in the Forest, Yuki-onna will appear by the Igloo, far in the distance. You will also receive a small Yuki-onna doodle in the dream diary.
Endless Wilderness[]

- Prompt: Trigger the window at the Hot Spring House.
- Description: Go right, then down in the Endless Wilderness. The Hot Spring House's door will be locked, so look inside the window instead to spot Onsen-san. He will only appear if you have yet to get the Knife effect.

- Prompt: Trigger the glowing box in the Boxes section.
- Description: Go down, then right in the Endless Wilderness. Click the colorful, glowing box and the Rave Monkey event will play, making a reappearance from the original game.

- Description: Like the original game, you have a random chance of seeing a falling man in the sky while using the stairs.

- Prompt: Random chance.
- Description: Alternatively, you can encounter a UFO flying in the air while using the stairs.
School[]
Aztec Monkey Bathroom[]

- Prompt: Trigger the bathroom door and walk a few steps.
- Description: Go to the School. Head inside the bathroom on the second floor. Walk a few steps to see the Aztec Monkey in the mirror. It will disappear very quickly.
Closet Madotsuki[]

- Prompt: Trigger the closet.
- Description: Head to the second room on the second floor of the Deep Dream section of the School. On the rock platform where you received the Lantern effect, double-jump off to the right. You will land on another platform with a closet. Open it to see Madotsuki inside, similar to the original game.
FACE[]
FACE event
- Prompt: Trigger the bedroom door.
- Description: You must have already finished the School world to get this. In the Deep Dream section of the School, head back to the leftmost room on the first floor. Go through the Zipper Room. Head up the Staircase past KyuuKyuu to Madotsuki's bedroom door. The FACE event will play like the original game. A sketch of a bleeding door will appear in the dream diary.

UBOA
- Prompt: Random chance of appearing when turning off the light.
- Description: A random event which might happen if you flicker the lights in Poniko's Room. Unlike the original game, the room will completely go dark and you will hear heavy breathing. In the 1.0 version, If you head into the dark, a jump scare happened and Madotsuki woke up. In the 2.0 update, if you turn on your Lantern and head to Poniko's desk, it now teleports you to Uboa's Trap World. Here, he teleports around a bit until you catch him. Once he is caught, you get the Mask of Fear.
